Introduction

I am a Psychologist & couple therapist working with The Marriage Fit now, with specialisation in Relationship Counselling. I am passionate about helping people create fulfilling marriage. My work majorly focuses on understanding the emotions/needs underneath and bringing them into their awareness so they could lead healthy lives. I believe there is always some or the other underlying need which is blocked as we aren’t aware of that yet and that results in malfunction in oneself and their relationship with others. Throughout my work, I have had an opportunity to work with individuals struggling with low self-worth, identity confusion, burnout, stress management, emotional regulation, understanding and expressing emotions as well as couple clients struggling with communication gaps, misunderstandings between partners, misalignment of their needs, problems with physical as well as emotional intimacy, financial stress, trust issues, family interference and difficulty establishing work-life balance.

My Approach

I believe therapy is a safe space, where you could be yourself without fear of being judged and with total vulnerability. My approach is collaborative and warm. The therapeutic approaches I use in my practices are: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)- to replace negative recurring thoughts, feelings and behavior into helpful, realistic, adaptive and positive alternatives. Emotion- Focused Therapy (EFT)- by Sue Johson to gain awareness about your underlying needs/emotions and rebuild emotional connection. Gottman Method- by John Gottman to build connection bids between the couples to improve the connection between the partners. Person-Centered Therapy- by Carl Rogers to help individuals communicate with genuine emotional openness. Furthermore I use an integrative approach as I believe everyone responds to therapy in different ways. My aim is to together help you and your partner have a bond where you both could communicate with each other openly and understand each other deeply.

What You Can Expect in our work together

I believe therapy should be a safe space where you could communicate your needs openly. In our sessions together, you could expect structured as well as empathetic counselling structure to improve your relationship as a whole. A safe space where you could openly communicate the problems you both are going through and together find solutions to solve those problems that result in disconnection between the partners. You will also get access to the toolkit to communicate, rebuilding intimacy and repairing the relationship as a whole. Beyond Conflict: Building Emotional Resilience Together I believe that conflicts are not only what we see at surface level but conflicts arise when there is a gap between a couple’s understanding, communication and empathy.  The goal of rebuilding a healthy relationship should extend beyond temporary improvements within the therapy room, enabling couples to independently navigate and manage future challenges even after the therapeutic process has concluded.  Engaging in the therapeutic process with me can help you develop a healthier and more sustainable relationship, strengthen your ability to resolve conflicts efficiently, and fosters quicker emotional reconnection during times of distress.

Professional Experience

As a Counselling Psychologist I have 2+ years of experience working with diverse individuals as well as couple clients. I have conducted therapy across various settings- clinics, schools and also online. These diverse experiences have helped me gain a better understanding of how personal and relational problems influence each other. These extensive experiences have deepened my skills of empathy, validation and understanding relationship dynamics. A Note from Me I could understand asking for help could feel awkward in the beginning- but once you show that bravery of reaching out for help, you will definitely never regret that decision. We are going to work on this together. Both of you would be equally heard and respected in this therapeutic process. We’ll try to understand the needs you have underneath and rebuild the kind of bond you both want.

Number of Couples Worked:

I am still building my couple therapy practice. But I do have a clear idea about how couples relationships work. I already have vast experience dealing with individual clients coming with relationship problems. Moreover, I have helped clients rebuild connection with their partner by understanding their relationship dynamics, helping them map out their communication cycle and facilitated them in rebuilding the healthy relationship they once had.
