They call Hysteria a woman’s biological part “uterus”, Some male philosophers believed that accumulation of too much women semen is poisonous and that is what led them to do abnormal activities. “Sex” was considered as ultimate cure. During the early Renaissance the women who were prone to Hysteria were considered as “Witches”. Being vocal about the anxiety problem at that time, were used against them and being tortured in Spain and face execution in Britain or burning at stake in Scotland in the name of “Witch Hunting”. However greek and roman doctors believed depression was a biological and psychological illness, they intervened patients by therapeutic methods such as gymnastics, massage, diet, music, baths, and a medication containing donkey’s milk for treatment. Feeling anxious at certain times in life is normal and healthy. Our feelings inform us about many things and anxiety and depression is our body’s natural response to stress or uneven change. Anxiety symptoms can show up in panic attacks and social phobias.
